On 20th December, my daughter purchased 2 mushroom patties and 1 vegetable patty from Sugar n Spice, Galleria. When she started eating the patty, to her horror she found the mushroom filling inside riddled with black fungus. Thankfully she noticed this in the first bite itself and what could have been a bad case of food poisoning, was averted. The patty seemed fine on the outside but obviously had been lying at the store for far too long. She immediately clicked a picture and later in the day, sent a mail informing the store of the mishap and alerting them of the substandard quality of the product, possibly of a whole batch. She also at the same time sent out a mail to FSSAI reporting the eatery.
Unfortunately, to date, there hasn’t been any decent apology or redressal of the issue, either from the store or from FSSAI.
While this kind of apathy from a premium brand is appalling, what is even more worrisome is the callousness of the regulating authority.
