ANRWA AGM was held on 17th December 2023 at the Anand Niketan club. About 35 to 40 members turned up for the meeting. President Deepti Gulati took the mike and on behalf of the Team ANRWA thanked everyone for sparing the precious time to attend the annual general body meeting. She then enumerated her teams commitment to working for overall welfare of the residents of Anand Niketan.
She recounted the unwavering dedication and selfless service of the luminaries of Anand Niketan and hoped that the current team and the younger generation will carry it forward in the coming Times. She then presented the report of activities done by team ANRWA as well as the problems faced by them.
Prompt redressal of residence complaints:
Team ANRWA’s most remarkable achievement lies in the unwavering 24 hour 7 availability and proactive approach in addressing residents’ concerns and complaints while coordinating with civic departments and ensuring prompt redressal.
Two apt examples of these were the gas leakage from the IGL pipeline of plot C118 where a potential disaster was averted due to the prompt actions of General Secretary Rohit Kumar and security supervisor Neeraj Sharma. Similarly a huge tree that fell in front of C116 ripped out 8 to 9 connected electric poles which were then reset by the BSES team in the presence of all the members of team anrwa in spite of the hot, humid weather from early morning to late evening throughout the restoration process.
Maintenance of parks: Parks are the heart and soul of Anand Niketan and the parks coordinators are doing a commendable job. Mr Rajesh Sood and Mrs Neelu Sood have admirably transformed the ornamental part of E block into a beautiful and vibrant space with blooming flowers. Similarly the Lohri park and the playground committee headed by Dr Havind Tandon manages the lively Lohri park where children play on swings and older kids engage in sports activities late into the evening. The Holi park, another designated playground, favourite among young and old sports enthusiasts is managed by Mr Ashok Choudhary and Yogesh Sharma. All these playgrounds are equipped with sufficient light, allowing play till 9:30 p.m. ANRWA expresses deep appreciation for the dedicated efforts of Mrs Chaudhary, Mrs Pooja Kumar, Mrs Sunita Ranjan, Mrs Devgan and Mrs Sippy Jain for tending to Sundar vatika, second lieutenant Arun Khetarpal park, Sai park, Upvan and park opposite D145 respectively with so much love and passion. Since PPP funds fall inadequate many residence contribute towards the upkeep of their parks are revered Dussehra park is currently being maintained by a n r w a with the help of Dr Morepen Ltd.
Dog mess: It is an offense to leave dog poop in public places. The MCD imposes a fine of rupees 500. MCD has asked the RWA to share pictures of the violators and the anrwa urges the residents to share such pictures for necessary action. It is the cooperation of the residents that will help in maintaining hygiene in community spaces.
Retiling of the backlanes: ANRWA has requisitioned retiling of the backlanes of E87-E95, D94-D95, C36-C48, C49 -C54, E27-E47, C64-C71, H1-G8. Funds for the same have been released from the MLA Fund and Works order has been issued by the MCD.
Pruning of trees: BSES pruned some trees which were touching the electric wires. The MCD could not do light pruning due to the order by the Honorable court of Delhi in a case filed by a resident of Vasant vihar. With the stay now lifted the MCD horticulture has promise to start light pruning shortly.
Water and electricity: Supply of water and electricity is closely monitored by a team and any complaint received is immediately attended to.
Charity drive: ANRWA has been organizing collection drives for Earth Saviour foundation, the NGO that looks after abandoned and destitute senior citizens. The residents have been very responsive and have donated lots of clothes, food, shoes, medical equipment etc. We request all residents to continue to contribute towards the noble cause.
Celebrations of festivals: The revival of festival celebrations after the pandemic has been more satisfying and we are very proud to uphold this tradition with the traditional ferver.
The Lori function was celebrated on 12th January and it was a grand success. So was the Holi function on 8th March. The most poignant function was the senior citizen meet on 16th April. This was the first time that the young children took part in the senior citizens’ meet and paid a touching tribute to the grandparents through their beautiful performances. We also celebrated the 77th Independence day with great pride. A large number of children and ladies of Anand Niketan participated in the cultural program. ANRWA organized it’s second Dandiya night on 30th September which witnessed the participation of over 600 people in colorful attire dancing joyously to Bollywood and Dandiya beats. The most captivating part was the dance performances presented by our children and ladies. Since the pollution board and the Supreme Court had prohibited the use of crackers, we did not celebrate the Dussehra in the traditional manner, in view of which we held the Dandiya night.
Annual collection drive: We have started our annual collection drive. The funds are required for celebration of festivals around the year and also for several miscellaneous expenses. Many members have already made the contribution either by transferring the amount into the ANRWA account or by sending their cheques to the respective block in charge and many have also given the contribution to the members who have visited their homes. We shall be grateful if you assist us in securing sponsorship for our functions and activities. This is the last AGM before the next elections and we thank you for the opportunity to serve you and sincerely hope that we have lived up to your expectations.
