The ‘Front’ and the ‘Back’ of the Same Park
Sector 50 A-E

The ‘Front’ and the ‘Back’ of the Same Park

Just like day and night, black and white, hot and cold, the B-block Park of Sector-50 can be termed as beautiful and ugly – both at the same time. The front side of the park with beautiful wall art in vibrant colours on the wall that one can see on entering the beautified main entry of the sector is in stark contrast to back side of the park that has broken tiles, the uncovered drain below with cover slabs not in place and the dry leaves/garbage inside the drain. It is the side facing 112 metre lane and has families living across.

The people of the lane have been seeing the accumulated garbage and the broken tiles/slabs on entering the park. “Why this step-motherly treatment to this side?” They want to know. When the front gate boundary wall was being painted and large brightly painted planters were placed in front of it throughout the roadside, they were happy that the entire park boundary wall will be renovated on the same lines.

They got disappointed and then understood that it was only to show a lovely face of the sector to the visitors, though in reality it is not beauty in totality.
