The Governing Body elections were held in The Palms on November 19th, 2023 where the residents voted to choose their Governing Body for the next 2 years. This year the election saw
15 candidates contesting for 11 seats which is a very welcome change from the usual struggle to fill the candidate roster. It reflects a growing interest and engagement among the residents to actively contribute towards the betterment of the society.
The election also saw participation from 5 women candidates, which is the highest so far.
In another welcome step, a profile of all candidates with pictures was circulated in all tower lobbies and on whatsapp groups for residents to make an informed decision about the candidates they wished to support.
A lot of these steps and regular communication regarding elections resulted in an increased level of participation from residents on the election day. The voter turnout surpassed the previous year’s record, which reflects well for the overall health and active community in Palms.
