Diwali Mela After a Gap of Three Years
Sector 40 & 41 Noida

Diwali Mela After a Gap of Three Years

After a gap of three years, RWA sector 40 decided to have a Diwali mela on Saturday, November 4, in the community centre. That feeling of belongingness, of community living is very special when such programmes are organised.

The programme started with a round of tambola to set the mood right followed by a cultural evening.  Mrs Srilini played perfect hostess for tambola.

The programme started with lamp lighting by our RWA president Ashok Sharma and general secretary Poonam Sharma. Mr Sharma welcomed everyone present there and wished a bright and prosperous Diwali.

Sector residents were invited to take part in the cultural programme. After many rounds of auditions and rehearsals, children of the sector prepared a short and sweet programme including dances and songs. It was heartwarming to see kids as small as 3years old participating confidently on stage and facing the audience. The show was magical and it was enjoyed by all. Mr Narsimhan was seen managing the whole show very effortlessly and efficiently.

A fashion show on the theme of ‘ traditional costumes ‘was presented where children walked the ramp along with their mothers who were instrumental in preparing their children and building confidence in them.

There were special dance and singing presentations by Khushi Goswami, a 3rd year Delhi university student and in 8th year of her classical singing training . She mesmerized the audience by her amazing talent. Our very own Rajnish Sharma, ex secretary RWA, enthralled the audience with his melodious voice.

Poonam Sharma, gen secretary RWA and Simi Chadha, cultural in charge worked really hard to put the show together – perfect example of women power.

Piya Vohra, a confident young girl, was anchoring the show where I got to share the stage with her. I wish her very best in future.

All the participants were given prizes by Mr Sehgal, Ashok Sharma, Simi Chadha and  Poonam Sharma.

Guests were seen enjoying the food stalls -games and shopping. Three lucky draws were also given.

This was a good move by RWA to organise a Diwali Utsav where residents can meet and have fun along with the children showcasing their talent. I wish more people could join the fun and our own Diwali Mela.
