Dear Fellow Residents,
This is in response to “Letter to the Editor”, sent by Simar Singh Arora, carried by SAMVADA of Oct 2023 for Sectors 40 41, blaming me for stopping grown-up boys from playing football in the C Block Park of Sector 41. In that context, I have the following to state.
One, I am not a self-appointed caretaker of the park but do the thankless job of looking after its general upkeep and maintenance at the behest of the C Block residents.
Two, the very first rule for the park, laid down by the Noida Authority and prominently displayed in the park, prohibits playing football and cricket inside the park.
Three, Simar Singh Arora – a class 10 student – and some of his equally grown-up friends regularly play a boisterous football game in the park despite my repeated requests & warnings.
Four, quite a few times the ball has hit the little ones playing on the slide/swing/see-saw, those sitting on the benches, and the ladies and the senior citizen walking on the walking path. Their game also damages plants and hedges.
Five, to crown it all, for the last three days, these unruly children have been bursting crackers inside the park. The attached photographs say it all.
Six, instead of mending their ways, Simar Singh Arora has not only complained against me but has also given an unnecessary religious twist to the issue.
Lastly, not only are my instructions ignored by these boys, but my son has also received threatening calls from a few parents of the erring boys on this count.
The aforesaid “Letter to the Editor” and its contents are deplorable. I request and expect residents to step forward to set the matter right. Let us not forget that this is a park and not a playground.
