This autumn of 2023, brought the residents of Prateek Wisteria together to celebrate Durga Puja in the society where the residents joined in celebrating this joyous festival which consisted of eleven days of cultural program. This festival of celebration is a fantastic step towards bringing together, “Diversity to unity” in society.
As in previous years, various cultural programs were planned. A very enthusiastic and overwhelming participation from all age groups from children to senior citizens.was witnessed this year. For this year’s Durga Puja, a lot of dedicated and selfless effort had been put in by the management committee and many residents of the society.,
The celebrations were marked by various activities and events that showcase the essence of Durga Puja. From vibrant decorations depicting Hindu mythology to engaging cultural performances such as dance, music, and bhakti, every aspect was meticulously planned to create an immersive experience for everyone involved.
The festivities began on October 14 with the grand welcome of Maa Durga’s idol to the society and its Sthapana at ‘Ma Ka Bhawan’, as per the prescribed procedure. In the evenings, starting from October 15 to 19, resident children, senior citizens, and elders presented joyous cultural performances of dance, music, and songs. On October 20 and 21,
Dandiya event was arranged on a huge stage set-up in the society’s central park. The ground was beautifully decorated with a fairy-light roof and colourful fabrics. All residents joined the troupe of professional ‘Kalbeliya’ dance artists in dandiya and garba dance moves.
The following day, a magnificent “Mata ki Chowki” was organized, where all the residents participated with utmost devotion and enjoyed the vibrant performances given by the professional artists. All residents prayed, danced, and sang along with the performers with high zest and zeal. It concluded with Bhandara.
A very special item was presented by the children which was highly appreciated by all. The children performed Ram Leela. Beautiful costumes and outstanding performances by the children mesmerised the audience. The festivities concluded on October 24 with a grand Visarjan of Maa Durga’s idol in the morning and Ravan Dahan in the evening.
In conclusion, Prateek Wisteria’s celebration of Durga Puja is a testament to their commitment towards creating an inclusive work environment where individuals from different backgrounds come together to celebrate their shared heritage.
