Suncity recently came alive with a vibrant celebration of its 21st Durga Puja. Organized by the Aravalli Sanskritik Parishad Durga Puja Committee, this annual event took place from October 20th to October 24th at the Suncity Community Centre, attracting residents and visitors alike.
The festivities were marked by a wide array of activities and attractions, ensuring that there was something for everyone to enjoy. Gourmet food stalls, offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, tempted the taste buds of the attendees. For those with a penchant for shopping, numerous stalls catered to ladies and children, providing an excellent opportunity to explore and indulge in retail therapy.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the focus on activities for young children. The organizers ensured that the young ones had their share of fun and entertainment, making the event a family-friendly affair.
The cultural program in the evenings was a major draw, featuring reality shows and Bollywood singers who enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing performances. Additionally, the community’s talented youngsters had a chance to showcase their skills through in-house performances, adding a personal touch to the celebrations.
The religious rituals during the five days of the festival were a testament to the community’s deep-rooted traditions. The five-day celebration of Suncity’s 21st Durga Puja featured a rich schedule of events and rituals. Amidst these rituals, a diverse range of cultural programs entertained the community. Maha Shasthi included the warm welcome of Maa Durga, a devotional dance by the little champs, and a musical night with Sohini Mukherjee.
Maha Saptami featured a drawing competition, a folk dance program capturing the essence of Bengal, and an energetic performance by the kids of Suncity. Maha Ashtami brought an engaging quiz, a traditional Sankha Competition, and a stage show with classical dance and Bollywood songs.
Maha Navami offered one-minute challenges, a night of Bollywood dance magic, and a musical rock night. Maha Dashami included a traditional Dhunuchi Dance Competition and a dance performance by ASP Ladies. This multifaceted celebration blended spirituality and culture, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
The Suncity Durga Puja celebration was not just a religious event but a cultural extravaganza that brought the community together in the spirit of joy, devotion, and celebration. It showcased the rich heritage and traditions of the community and served as a platform for talent and creativity to shine. This annual event continues to be a unifying force in Suncity, fostering a sense of togetherness and cultural pride.
