No, I am not repeating the lyrics of a famous song, I am putting forth this question after having read a post in a WhatsApp group. A Pure Brass Shiva Statue that was installed at the last house at the corner of M4 and M2 has been missing.
On asking the security guard in the building across it was learnt that it had disappeared three nights ago.
Mr Indranil recalls seeing it there on a platform for more than 15 years saying it was installed there by the old resident Mr Guha back then. Without the engagement of the authorities in charge of the colony’s welfare, other residents can’t check the cameras of the neighbouring houses to catch the culprits.
Another shocking theft is that of the sewer covers in J-9. These have been lifted off by thieves, in broad daylight. It’s a bit strange if we think of it, how conveniently thieves were able to lift heavy iron sewer covers and walk out of the colony without anyone stopping or questioning them.
Residents of M-10/41, would also have similar concerns with regards to safety & security within the colony, especially after having experienced thieves breaking into their house and stealing valuables.
Frequent thefts like these raise a question of concern. What more can we do to make our colony safe and secure?
