Afree eye check up camp was organized at Indosam Society. The camp was aimed to create awareness around diabetic retinopathy, an eye disorder caused by diabetes,
leading to blindness if not taken care of early on. Preventative check-ups are an easy way to avoid this but unfortunately there is very low amount of awareness amongst people.
There is no symptom of diabetic retinopathy in its early stages, but it is the most frightening yet preventable complication of diabetes. As the disease progresses, blood vessels in the retina bleed and eventually lead to the loss of sight if ignored.
Free Eye Check Up Camp for residents of Indosam 75 and 7X was organised on September 3 for checking up for diabetic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma and more .
The venue was Club House, Indosam 75, Sector 75 Noida. More than 100 people availed the benefit of this camp aging 8 years to 70+ years.
1 out of 6 world diabetic patient is Indian, this makes the camp most relevant to keep an eye on this asymptomatic eye problem. Some of the attendees were timely diagnosed for early sign of retinal concerns and shall recover early.
