Many residents in the sector have been demanding the pruning of overgrown trees outside their houses. The branches have been intruding into balconies or starting to touch electricity wires, causing sparks. With winds blowing, overgrown trees can lead to accidents if the authority does not prune them regularly. However, it has been seen that, in the name of pruning, trees are heavily pruned and harmed. As per a RWCS member, since the Durga Puja festival is around the corner and celebrations are on at Kalibari Mandir, certain roads in the sector are off-limits to heavy vehicles. Hence, the pruning of trees will happen only after Dusshera.
