In response to an appeal by our Hon’able PM, Shri Narendra Modi, on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi ji’s Birthday, the RWA, C Block, Sec 31 organized a ‘One Hour Safai Abhiyan’ (SA)on October 1 in the ‘C’ Block. The RWA executive members, residents, kids and the Safai Karamcharis took active part in the SA.
Songs signifying the importance of cleanliness were played on loudspeaker and the residents kept joining the SA as it proceeded from one lane to the other. The outstanding feature of SA was participation by super senior citizens and kids with great zeal. They were seen collecting waste material lying on the roads and on both it’s sides
They were clad with gloves, brooms and bags and other safety gears. The Health Departmnet of Noida came up with a big team of Safai Karamcharis and their officials. After the SA, the Block sported a neat and clean look.
The SA ended with all the participants taking an oath to adopt cleanliness not only in their daily life but also to motivate others to keep their surroundings neat and clean. All participants were served with a glass of Chhaj, fruity and Namkeen.
At a felicitation ceremony on October 8, five kids who wholeheartedly participated in the SA were honoured with prizes by RWA president RK Singh in the presence of executive members to encourage and motivate them to adopt cleanliness in their daily life.
As stated by our Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Cleanliness is next to only Godliness’.
