October marks the beginning of festive season. Our Vividha family eagerly waits to celebrate the festivals and bonding that we share with each other.
The meeting started with Gandhi ji‘s favourite bhajan ‘‘वैष्णव जन तो तैने कहिए’’ beautifully rendered by Janak Bhatia and Manju Tandan . Floral tributes were paid to Gandhi ji and Shastri ji as we celebrated the birthday of two great leaders of Bharat.
When the rehearsal for dandiya was scheduled, there were number of confirmations from our members. Keeping aside their knee pains, shoulder pains, spondylitis etc , two groups of ladies practiced for many days under the guidance of our pretty and patient choreographer Kaveri Bhatia, who took out time from her busy schedule to be with her extended family. And the love and blessings she got in return were priceless!
Colourful attires, magical moves and groovy music, all together created an electrifying atmosphere. Nisha Chhabra and Anita Kapoor presented a Karwachauth themed duet dance.
Birthday girls were given presents and wished in chorus.
Janak ji wrote a short skit on how honesty and simplicity wins in life and she enacted it with Radhika Sareen. The skit was hilarious yet it conveyed the message that it is not necessary to burn effigies of Ravan and party to celebrate the victory of good over evil. It is important that we inculcate some good habits in our day to day life.
In the end festival Tambola was played. Mrs Bhatia wrote the tickets as there were words not numbers on tickets. Our members and guests thoroughly enjoyed the change.
An NGO also came to address Vividha family to talk about the importance of three R’s – Reduce, Reuse , recycle. Our members agreed to formation of an exclusive ladies group to address sector related issues and solutions.
There was a lot to celebrate this month. The meeting ended with hot kachori aloo, ice cream and juice.
Whenever we meet, we create magic – true for Vividha family.
