On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 154th birth anniversary, a drawing competition was organized by Pavilion Height 2 Cultural Welfare Society to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation and promote his vision of a Clean India and a Developing India.
This event aimed to inspire young artists to use their creativity to envision a cleaner, more prosperous India and to encourage civic responsibility. Participants were encouraged to use their artistic talents to illustrate what these concepts meant to them.
15 kids participated in the following categories: 5-10 Years – Clean India & 11-15 years – Developing India.
Clean India: Participants depicted scenes of clean streets, green environments, and people engaged in cleanliness drives. These artworks emphasized personal and environmental hygiene, waste management, and the need to reduce pollution.
Developing India: Participants showcased their visions of a prosperous India through diverse illustrations. They depicted advancements in technology, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
A few also highlighted equality and inclusivity in the development process.
Gandhi’s Influence: Several artworks paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi himself, depicting him as a guiding light for the nation’s progress. His principles of non-violence, simplicity, and self-reliance were evident in many of the drawings.
The judges were impressed by the creativity displayed. Prizes were awarded to the winners: 5-10 years category – Ansh, Aadya, Zaira & 11-15 years category – Siddhi, Aaradhana, Mahi Sachdeva.
The true reward was the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience. These artists were able to convey a powerful message about cleanliness and development in modern India.
A small quiz on Mahatma Gandhi’s life followed. Children & adults participated enthusiastically.
The event concluded with distribution of chips packets and juice packs. Thanks to all the residents who encouraged the kids to participate and express themselves.
