An obscure little dispensary in our block, near Unitech Gate keeps working quietly in its own league but provides the blanket of protection to many, when in need.
I remember in COVID times when people were running amuck, it was this place that provided the vaccine to the masses. Homo sapiens suffer from goldfish memory and we don’t thank them enough for those unsung. It is one such topic that we forget to praise. The staff there is very helpful and communicative. They even have the vaccine for Rabies housed in those humble folds of it, along with a well-equipped labour room, where deliveries occur successfully. They have a diagnostic lab for early T.B. detection too and are moving further, slowly but determinedly. It was them who procured the COVID-19 vaccine before others could. Saksham school kids often use it when they are in need of health care.
Dr. Gaurav Gupta, who is heading the Dispensary administration is doing a wonderful job in adding many other facilities to the dispensary. It is going leaps and bounds under his supervision. Needless to say, it is a part of Aayushman Bhav Yojna, the campaign that aims to deliver healthcare services to the underserved population of India. Recently President Draupadi Murmu virtually launched the Aayushman Bhav campaign of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, at Rajbhavan in Gandhinagar on September 13, 2023. If such is the progress of it, soon it will become the reality for the masses!
