Anand Lok Residents Association (ARA) organised a delightful Janmashtami function on 7th September 2023 in the community centre. The function was attended by around 150 residents including senior citizens, adults, young kids and even toddlers.
On entering the community hall one could see the beautiful Jhanki which was done by Ms Rupi, depicting a very cute episode of the deliverance of Nalakuvara and Manigriva by toddler Krishna. The entire hall was beautifully decorated and a special stage was set for the performers. The program was anchored by Ms Aruna Gupta and started with Melodious bhajans by Ms Vimlesh Gupta, Mr. Chatrapati Rai and Mr. Vikrant Rai that generated a lot of positive energy in the hall.
Adorable Toddlers Dev, Mira, Avni, Neil, Atulya, Anisha, Rihaan, Nandita and Reyan dressed up in Radha-Krishna attires presented dance performances on a series of Krishna songs. Little girls Nayrah Sharma, Anishka Gupta and Inayat Walia dressed as Radha gave a splendid classical dance performance on songs devoted to Krishna.
To appreciate the kids for their performance on Janmashtami and motivate them to participate more in the colony events, certificates, chocolates and gifts were presented to them. The gifts were sponsored by Sh. Chatrapati Rai. Kids were delighted to see their names on the certificates and loved the presents they got from Mr. Rai.
Ladies of Anand lok Ms Aseema Gupta, Ms Parul Mittal, Ms Neetu Sharma also presented a group dance that filled the air with joy and a festive spirit of devotion and enthusiasm. Sh Bharat Gupta, one of the initial residents of Anand Lok and a senior citizen gave a heart touching musical performance on Violin. The finale was the vivid kathak dance performance by Ms Asawari that left the audience enthralled.
Award winning paintings of the competition held in DVCC on 13th August 2023, were displayed during Janmashtami function for residents to see. Refreshments were served and Prasad was distributed to all. It was a well organized function and a great celebration enjoyed by all the participants and the attendees.
