The RWA should get a survey done of all the Gulmohar trees of the Sector which are old and diseased. Many of them are hollow and brittle with the result that when there is even a small storm, big branches break and fall.
On 19 Aug, Mriganka Prahladka wrote: A big dried branch fell on my car and dented it. This happened during the storm in the early morning. I request the RWA that when a pruning exercise is done, at least all other neighbouring trees and all trees at large should be inspected. Thankfully, only the car was hurt and no one else. This happened outside H.no.35.
Subsequently, Smita Shah commented: Such trees should be inspected and action should be taken. Remember last year? The huge gulmohar tree fell on my wall, broke two iron gates and crushed my new SUV. The vehicle was in the garage for a month but luckily insurance took up most of it. I had to spend so much to fix the wall and gate of my house.
Kiran Kapoor (H.no.354) added: I have complained so many times about the tree outside my H.no.354 to previous and present committees but to no avail.
On Friday, 8 Sep, a big branch of the Gulmohar tree outside H.no.292 fell on Aditya’s car and his driver noticed it the next morning. It had damaged the windscreen of the car.
