Wellington
In Wellington flag hoisting time was 9.30 am. W1 park was inundated with National flags.The flag was hoisted by Ravindra Kumar Narad. After his speech, a fancy dress competition took place. Lavya presented a dance, and Abhaya, Aditya and Darsh sang songs. It was the first time anchoring was done in our National language Hindi. Carlton
In Carlton, the day began with marching of the guards around Carlton premises and saluting our National Flag. The event started with an addressing note by the CECA Board members followed by a singing performance by the senior citizen lady group, and dance performances by the children. Carlton also played a host to a group of girls from the NGO- Sarvam Shakti Foundation, who showcased different forms of Indian dances and yoga to the residents. The day ended with a short quiz held for the resident by a fellow resident- Mr. Ibrahim- the questions got all the residents brainstorming for answers. – Anushree Bindal
Princeton
At 9 am, Central Park was ready for the celebration. The serene Dias with the majestic pole, rows of chairs, pinned-up gigantic flags, bunches of multicoloured balloons at every nook and corner and the bright green potted plants welcomed the residents who came in streams to Central Park.
Archana Srivastava and Amit Srivastava of P1B 173, were the enthusiastic anchors. The President of PECA Dr Kazmi unfurled the flag and an inspiring speech was delivered by him after hoisting our national flag.
This was followed by a revered national anthem. General knowledge questions referring to our freedom fighters were put among the residents to enhance the knowledge of youngsters in the gathering. Spectacular cultural programs by Princeton Tiny Tots attracted everyone.
A drawing and painting competition was held for the kids. An enthusiastic race for senior women and men was held separately. A tug-of-war competition was held giving chance for the rest of the gathering to prove their mettle. The spirit and gust of energy displayed by the residents was inexplicable. Light refreshment was provided. A grand Bhandara was organised by the laughter club members to wind up the celebration. It was reported that about 800 residents enjoyed the relishing food. Trinity
The Trinity RWA started the preparations at least 15 days in advance and all the activities and events were so well managed and sequenced that the residents had an everlasting memory of this Independence Day. There were attractions for each age group be it children, youngsters or senior citizens. The Flag hoisting was done by a group of Children followed by Patriotic Poetry and the sharing of thoughts again by the young kids. Followed by the flag hoisting ceremony there were cultural programs where the Kids performed patriotic songs and enacted the roles of Nehru ji, Lakshmi bai and Subhash Chandra Bose. There were Stalls of Chhole Bhature, Chhat and other mouth-watering delicacies where residents regrouped and senior citizens shared their memories of Independence and the leaders of the past. Overall a very well-orchestrated program filled with fervors of Patriotism and a sense of pride for being part of Trinity which has loads of young talent and great emotional connections between the residents. – Dinesh Paliwal (Trinity Tower, 9958519777)
Exclusive Floors
Miley Khushq Roti Jo Azaad Rehkar, Woh Ghulami Ke Halwey Sey Behtar Hai
The 76th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August with pomp and show at Exclusive Floors Owners Society. Drenched in the spirit of freedom and patriotism, the residents of EFOS had a gala time enjoying the spick-and-span parade of Exclusive Floors Security Force along with a galaxy of performances both by the children and adults respectively. The event was anchored by the duo Paavni and Rakhee Kapoor who did a wonderful gab job.
The Guest of Honour for the celebration was D.N. Chaudhary who was graciously welcomed by President Usha Chauhan. In his address to the residents, the chief guest emphasized upon love for the country and truly motivated the audience to contribute towards the development, peace and prosperity of our dear country Bharat (India) in their special way. After the customary parade, and flag-hoisting ceremony followed by the Guest’s speech, an array of cultural performances was presented which was a delightful concoction of singing, dancing, storytelling and a speech.
The participants such as Annika, Kalyani, Shanaya, Madhavi, Tanvi, Shreya, Kavya, S. C. Sharma, Mona Mathur, Madhu Monga, Kamal Jyoti and Ranjan Kumar Sahai mesmerized the audiences with their authentic and patriotic performances. A questionnaire based on India and its rich culture was floated amidst the programme to keep the audiences intact and engaged. The programme for the occasion was organised by the Cultural Committee of EFOS which is superbly led by Shri Suresh Chandra Sharma. To wind up, all the residents were treated with samosas, Laddoos and cold drinks. The event ended with the chanting of Bharat Mata Ki Jai Slogan which sincerely reflected the undying and unwavering spirit of Swatantrata and Deshbhakti. – Sonal Nirmmal Nammita
