Hariyali Teej is a vibrant celebration seeped in rich cultural traditions and devotion. This day marks the union of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati and the day when married women pray for the long life of their husbands. The ladies of Mahagun Morpheus celebrated this auspicious occasion on July 19, with a splendid show of tradition, unity, and merriment.
The clubhouse was bedecked with beautiful décor, colorful chunnis, rajasthani umbrellas, flowers,that transported everyone to a festive wonderland. The three oraganisers Ruchika Jain, Sonu Rathore and Madhvi Joshi had been tirelessly working for a month to make it a memorable evening for all.
Around 5 pm, ladies dressed elegantly in traditional ethnic attire, intricate sarees, resplendent lehengas, and beautifully adorned jewelry started assembling in hopes of winning punctuality. Laughter filled the air as they were greeted by fragrant white gajras for colorful bangles. The program commenced with melodious songs by Sonu, Ruchika and Madhvi some lip smacking snacks and jaljeera.
The dances, a hallmark of Teej, were a visual delight. Women of all ages swayed gracefully to traditional tunes, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm leaving everyone mesmerized. Gifts flowed generously, for dances, punctuality, question game, reflecting the spirit of sharing and love. Price is Right game coordinated by Sonu was huge hit with all where one had to guess the price of an item. Antakshari, the age-old musical battle, resonated with melodious tunes as Ruchika coordinated the three rounds engaging all in hearty banter and friendly competition.
The Saas-Bahu Jodi round and crowning of the Teej Queen was the highlight of the event. Seven pairs of Saas-Bahu flaunted their matching attires in a ramp walk. Each jodi was a winner but three awards were given. Two Teej Queen competetins were held, one for above 60 years and one below. All ladies gracefully walked the ramp and showed off their beautiful attire and jewellry. The coveted title went to ladies who embodied grace, enthusiasm, and a deep understanding of our cultural roots.
The celebrations came to an end with delectable chaat stalls with tantalizing flavors of street food were savored by all. The Teej celebrations were a reflection of deep-rooted traditions that in every dance, every laugh, and every bite of chaat, the heart of India beat resoundingly, reminding us of the beauty of our collective traditions.
