Another case of rash driving happened in D 115 of Panchsheel Enclave. The owner of the car which was parked in the stilt parking of the gave the car keys to the guard posted there in order to remove it from there as it was blocking other cars. Little knowing that the guard was not trained and also did not have a driving license. The guard in a hurry accelerated so badly that it rammed into other three cars outside. A gentleman was waiting just outside the building for his daughter to come down escaped miraculously.
Only a few months back, a teenager driving an SUV had rammed and damaged two cars in the colony. The matter was reported in Samvada. That itself was a lesson for everyone. The matter was resolved amicably. But it does not give us a license to repeat the same offense. This time instead of an irrational driving, the owner without checking the background and driving credentials of the guard handed over the car keys. However, a fight ensued between the owner of the car and the damaged car owners. It was amicably settled since all of us have been in the neighbourhood for years but I feel we should be more responsible and not give cars to untrained and unlicensed drivers. We are putting people’s lives at risk.
