The Independence day was celebrated with great grandeur and gaiety in the central park of Green Park Main now called the Agrasen park. Everywhere people dressed in tricolor dresses could be seen and it appeared that they were filled with the spirit of patriotism.
The program started with flag hoisting. As the flag unfurled, the sound of our National anthem – Jan gan man was resonating in the atmosphere. It was a beautiful sight to see all the old, young children and toddlers singing together.
Thereafter we had a lovely music program wherein beautiful desh bhakti songs were sung by colony ladies. Bina Ji sang “kar chale hum fida”, Sudhanshu Ji sang “chodo kal ki baatein” and Rekha ji sang “aye mere watan ke logo – all beautiful soul sturring numbers. Then there was Anamika ji who gave a group recital. Also a little girl who recited a poem on Desh bhakti. The atmosphere was really charged and one could feel that very much. After the music program there were refreshments served with coffee to everyone. It was a great morning, people got a chance to interact with each other. A big thanks to dear Namita Sood and all office bearers of a Green Park Association for making this event a big success Jay Hind.
