Glamour is elegance and simplicity in being comfortable, stylish, yet attractive in what you wear” so says our Diva Preeti Goyal. A NIFT graduate who took inspira-tion from her children shares with us her thoughts and a piece of her personal journey too.
“It all started in 2016 while on a family holiday where I wanted my daughter and me to flaunt the same outfits. A steady stream of compliments came our way while dressing up alike making me feel very happy and proud. Backed by a degree and experience in Fashion Design and Information Technology I embarked upon a new journey of designing coordinated outfits. This new phase saw me getting mired in work leaving me no time for hobbies like reading, drawing, and dancing. Dance is my passion – I can dance anywhere and am always game to learn new dance forms. It is also a way of fitness – a means of staying healthy, active, and happy. A morning walk and yoga person, I am a regular in our own Jahapanah city forest. Pranayam forms an integral part of my daily routine.
During the pandemic, everything changed, work stopped – Netflix and Instagram spoilt us. But I took to a new hobby learning Resin art. A self-taught artist, I enjoyed making newer things, especially wall clocks. As the world recovered – we slowly made a comeback. Many things changed in those three years. The world of fashion, shopping habits, and styles changed too. Fast fashion is something I do not understand. A lover of pure fabrics, and hand embroideries – my emphasis is on comfortable wear which is simple and elegant. Whites and pastels are amongst my favorite colours. I am not a great shopper and I am my best company as I like shopping offline. I love getting my outfits made myself being extremely particular about the finishing and quality – an experience that online shopping does not give. Neither am I brand conscious.
I am a minimalist person when it comes to makeup since I have oily skin. I prefer to use good Indian products which are pocket friendly too. Not the one to experiment much – I do not apply too much to my face, just sunscreen and a facewash suffice for daily care. I would like to wrap up by saying – Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak”
Soft spoken and gentle Preeti certainly makes her way into the hearts of people.
