by Arushi Jain

Daslakshan parv this year was celebrated in September. In the span of 10 days Jains from across the globe fast with either just water or no water and food for 3 days consecutively; As the tradition of celebrating these 10 holy days is carried forward, Jains from all around DLF Phase 2 got together every day in the morning for pooja and in the evening to take up intriguing ways to educate the seekers and connect with the jain community.

The programmes included pravachan by the gurus along with exciting quick quiz, fancy dress, drawing competitions, thali decorations, skits and lot more. On the 10th day, as believed to be one of the most auspicious days of all in Jainism “Anant Chaturdashi” was celebrated with a palki around L and K block.

To sum up the celebrations on a positive note, On the day of ‘Chhamavni’(Forgiveness), i.e., the 11th day everyone apologises by wishing “Michhami-dukhnam” (forgiveness to any hurt I may have caused unknowingly). All in all, daslakshan parv like the other festivals around us, helps us reignite the special importance of religion and connectivity in our culture.
