In a world of professional chefs basking in the spotlight, hidden within the cosy confines of a home kitchen and culinary brilliance is Vikram Chaudhary.
Vikram Chaudhary (D66/2nd Floor) 38 years old was born in Gohana and brought up in Sonipat Haryana. Recently we had the pleasure of sitting down with Vikram to learn more about his journey and inspirations.
His passion for cooking began at the early age of 8 years. As a child, Vikram found solace and inspiration in his grandmother’s kitchen where he discovered his everlasting fascination for cooking. “ I aspire to cook like my grandmother someday,” says Vikram.
However, it was a long and arduous journey. After graduating with an Economics and Geography Degree Vikram worked in the corporate field for ten years. In 2014, he decided to quit and deviate from the traditional career path to follow his passion.
Enrolling himself in the Victoria College of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Vikram pursued a culinary diploma, graduating in 2016 while simultaneously working full-time in Malaysia throughout his course.
Vikram specialises in Oriental cuisine and has a special admiration for Indian Cuisine. He also worked with Taj for 2 years. His love for Indian Cuisine led him to open a cafe The Jalebi Shop in Sector 54, Gurugram. The Jalebi Shop offered special varieties of jalebis which included Rose Jalebis, Gud jalebis, Elaichi jalebis, Kesar jalebis and Kevar Jalebis. The Jalebi Shop also took part in the Food Festival of 2019. Their Gohana Jalebis were especially a customer favourite. However, due to difficulties faced during the pandemic lockdown, The Jalebi shop was shut down.
But this did not stop Vikram from pursuing his dream. He recently established Vikram’s Homemade and this is where his journey of being a home chef began. “ I enjoy the freedom to cook whatever I want without any pressure, it gives me a chance to add my personal touch.”
Vikram’s Homemade offers mouth-watering snacks such as noodles, veg momos, honey chilli potatoes and veg and non-veg thalis. It also includes a chef’s special Hummus Paneer/Chicken Wrap and Hummus Pita.
Vikram is a true and passionate home chef who has worked relentlessly to reach where he is today. We are delighted to welcome Vikram’s Homemade as a valued member of our society.
