Delhi A City of Lakes
Every year, the rains throw Delhi out of gear. This year it’s the same, the untimely advent of monsoons, the lashing rains, have thrown Delhi out of gear.
A single outpour, is enough to derail, all activities. The streets get flooded, water gets into homes and New Friends Colony becomes a mini-Venice.
In spite of knowing the situation, one wonders, what is the civic body doing, to prepare in advance for the impending situation! The drains need to be de-clogged before the onset of monsoons. The MCD, is very much aware of the line of action to be taken, to encounter situations like this. A timely action, taken before the impending danger, can be very helpful, it’s truly said a “stitch in time saves nine”. The broken roads, speak a million about the quality of material used to build them.
The Sheesham park has been flooded and is no longer fit for a walk, in fact it looks more like a swimming pool!
The citizens, as well as the authorities, need to work hand in hand, to improve the situation of the capital city.
