In the past week, we have seen more rain than in the last three months combined. It has brought much-needed relief from the extremely hot and humid weather, but it has also unfortunately highlighted the drainage problem in the Delhi NCR region. Many might have noticed the clogged roads which looked more like rivers traveling through which was impossible. Even schools had to shut down due to flood warnings in the Yamuna River. Even our society suffered from this heavy rain as it led to two pipes bursting and our road being flooded unnecessarily. While something like this can’t be controlled, I’m proud to say that our FM was quick to respond and fixed the water clogged roads ASAP. All of this does raise a question – Is momentary relief from hot and humid weather really more important than the damage caused by extreme rain?
