La la la la la… The ecstasy few mothers feel as the date of summer vacations ending gets closer… The feeling is so heavenly! It is worth the wait! Afterall, for almost two months, mothers get exhausted, screaming and shouting at their kids. There is no timetable – no sleeping time, no wake-up time, cooking snacks 24/7, messy rooms, dirty floors littered with chips and crayons and paints – all this with the younger kids.
Elder kids are never out of their rooms! They are deaf aliens. Their body, mind and soul are devoted to online games. But I dare to say if the kids spend time together, the fears of a mother come alive – she has to become a referee for a long time for sure!
After going through a roller coaster ride every summer vacation, the wait for ‘The Day’ becomes apparent. Every mother’s best acting skills come up on the last day of the vacation – when nearly all the kids are unhappy for their school reopening and on the contrary, all the mothers are jumping with joy, holding their excitement within themselves!
And finally, the day arrives – alarm clock rings at 6 AM, time to wake up kids, get them ready, make their food, take them to the bus stop – and the moment: the heavenly moment that the mothers have been waiting for – is right here! NOW!!
With each and every bye – bye to the kids, you can see the mother’s eyes twinkling with joy, their faces glowing with happiness!!! Their gestures scream, “I am a free bird (at least for four hours), I can finally have my Me-time!!! I can put my throat to rest, meditate, dance, do whatever I like, dress up well, and go on a girls’ date!”
Truly… It’s an ecstatic moment worth experiencing every year with each summer vacation!
