All children look forward to summer holidays, however, for parents, it is somewhat challenging to think of ways to keep the children engaged. Queries had been circulating on the WhatsApp group regarding Summer camps in the vicinity. Looking at this need the RWA team of RP2 organized a summer camp for kids. Three of our talented residents agreed to conduct the classes.
The Baking session was held by Kiran Thakur where The lil chefs of RP2 spent the perfect summer afternoon decorating cookies & making cake pops. They not only showcased their creativity but also had a sweet treat to relish at the end of it. Kiran has had a passion for baking since her teens and decided to turn her passion into a career. Kiran has completed her Diploma in Pastry Arts from the Academy of Pastry & Culinary Arts.
The art session was conducted by Asmita, another resident of RP2. “It was my first time hosting an art workshop and I was both nervous and excited about it. But I had such fun conducting the session and the kids were exceptionally good and super cooperative”, she said. The children were ages 5 yrs to 12 yrs and she used watercolours to teach them the basics of art and painting. Asmita has been learning art from school and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
The dance session was conducted by Rajani who is very popular among kids and adults equally. Rajani is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and has been conducting dance for many years for little toddlers as well as fitness dance classes for ladies. During the summer camp, children were happy shaking a leg to popular Bollywood numbers.
The summer camp sessions were very well conducted and the children enjoyed a lot. The parents were also happy that the kids had fun while learning something new.
