If I had to use one word to describe Aparna, Attul and Aagastya’s home on the twelfth floor of R-tower Windsor Court, it would be ‘serene’. There is an instant calm one feels as you enter their abode, a beautiful amalgamation of modernity, simplicity, and old-world charm. Each wall and every single piece of furniture has been meticulously designed by Aparna and the amount of thought and love put in, shines through. The walls are designed with intricate beading work, dividing them aesthetically into parts which seem to fit seamlessly together.
There are many plants of different sizes, adding a touch of greenery highlighted in the background of the white walls and upholstery. Aparna feels that using plants is the best and most budget-friendly way to beautify a home. Few carefully chosen knick-knacks are placed throughout the house, as are the paintings done by Aparna.
My favourite piece in the house is a framed zari border of Aparna’s mothers’ wedding saree. Placed on a wall in the master bedroom, it is a keepsake for generations and blessings which are passed on from the parent to the child.
Nine-year-old Aagastya summed it up perfectly, “Our home is cozy, airy, and beautiful. It’s like a ten-star resort.” I couldn’t agree more.
