A mild pre-monsoon shower brought a flood-like situation in most of the colonies as sewer outflow systems were found clogged. Complaints with the MCG department responsible for maintaining the system are increasing every day. Monsoon is on our heads now and we shall likely find ourselves in the same situation as we suffer every year. More than 6000 complaints have been received till the time of reporting.
It is understood that the department has put in a proposal to procure a suitable number of super suckers and bucket machines for clearing blockages in sewer lines. Let us hope that their plans to buy equipment and execution take place rapidly to safeguard against the miseries of residents.
