Rain Water Logging in Some Areas of B2 Block

The rain water accumulates in this particular section of the block creating a big nuisance for the residents. B2 Block is a low lying area, rain water flows down from B5 Block and gets accumulated adjacent to B2/73/C, opposite B2/210 to B2 /213. In 2017, we had taken up this issue with Commr/SDMC, Deputy Commr./ SDMC, South Zone, Green Park and also pursued it with their concerned AEs/JEs. Thereafter, rain water drain was made along service road adjacent to B2/73/C // opposite B5/105/C [ along northern side of B5 park wall ] but out of 28 cement slabs put over it only two had holes for water to enter .After series of complaints on MCD311 App to either replace flat slabs with ones having holes, only two were replaced as informed by Rajinder Kumar, Ex-En, due to resource crunch but drilling holes in remaining 26, as requested by us, is an easy task, can be done even now.

Similar water drainage system was put on ground opposite B2/210 to B2/213 where also some slabs have no holes for water to enter. Even rectangular and round slab having holes remain clogged with thick soil or thick mud as same are not regularly cleared with help of any ordinary small stick by Safai Karamcharis and also due to the fact that vehicles remain parked over them.Sanitary Deptt. /MCD needs to keep holes open by also seeking co-operation of residents whose vehicles remain parked over them.

The aforesaid situation results in accumulation of mud or thick soil on service roads and drainage slabs, with every passing vehicle, whose frequency is quite high, raising effective joint operation of rain water drainage system round the year by MCD’s road engineering and sanitary departments is urgently needed.

The other important issue is that Regular and effective cleaning of service road and rain water drainage slabs by Safai Karamcharis of MCD is not done on time.

=Cleaning/ sucking of road dust of service roads by vehicle mounted mechanized vacuum cleaners of MCD, who has such big and small vacuum cleaners named as ” JATAU” being used in Sector 2 / R.K.Puram, why can’t such system be followed in our area?

As per responsible print media report, present Mayor of MCD has given instructions for cleaning of all rain water drains by 15th of instant, which needs to be complied in an effective manner by concerned MCD staff in a time bound manner. Hope that measures are taken to resolve our issues at the earliest.
