We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give. – Winston Churchill. Seven Years ago, Ranjit Singh, an architect turned spaces & interior designer moved to Malibu on a rented accommodation and soon fell in love with the open spaces and the greenery the township had to offer and decided to make it his permanent abode. A resident of Club Road, he, along with his wife & son, has now been calling Malibu Towne his “Home” since 2016. It was on his persuasion that his friend Devesh Sachdev, owner of a Microfinance organization, dropped by during a house-hunting spree, to have a dekko at what the township had to offer.? Didn’t take him long to become a resident too, with his wife and two sons. The two good friends have now been neighbors since 2020.
Their morning walks around the lush environs of the colony brought them in contact with the rest of the community and soon enough, both became actively interested in colony affairs. Post MCG takeover in July last year, when it was time to purchase new equipment to enhance the upkeep of the township, an appeal was made to the residents to help the RWA buy a tractor trolley that was urgently required to lift the horticulture waste that was piling up. Ranjit & Devesh immediately stepped in and sent across the funds needed to purchase it.
The selfless gesture by two of the many benefactors of Malibu Towne has not only resulted in cleaner surroundings but has also made the township more self-sustaining in times of unpredictability of Municipality workings. Gone are the days of chasing the estate agency for lending us the mechanical equipment.
The township is extremely fortunate to have such noble and thoughtful residents living amongst us, who believe in quietly doing their bit for the community.
