In Samvada (February) we carried report of the inauguration of Sports Arena in Sector 92, on 26 January, by Vandana Tripathi (IAS) OSD, Director Horticulture Noida Authority, was invited to be the chief guest.
Now 4 months into the functioning of the facility for the residents, it’s heartening to see youngsters coming here and making full use of the set-up. Some are budding champions, who find this facility near to their homes beneficial to develop their skill. In the arena, the sports centre in the Community Centre complex has a badminton court and a cricket net practice ground. Young children come here during evenings; men, the office goers, are seen practicing during Saturday/Sunday.
Outdoor flooring is in PP tiles that are widely being used for with 10 years warranty, with improved comfort and zero maintenance; high performance, safe and durable and low-glare surface has an all-weather excellent grip. Indoors, on the first floor, there is arrangement of 2 tables for table-tennis. For board games, carom and chess are provided at one side of the hall.
The games facility has taken shape with the efforts and cooperation of quite a few people of the sector, who have supported Team RWA comprising Sanjay Juneja, Manish Yadav, Ranjan Kumar, Shashank Yadav, Sonya Sethi and Dr Shraddha. However names of Mr Ranjan and Mr Shashank need special mention.
Ranjan Kumar has been an avid planner and researcher in whatever task he takes on. Being a mechanical engineer his inclination towards precision can be seen in the sports arena. His efforts in getting the sports arena constructed and sourcing the best material is commendable.
Shashank Yadav is a youth icon in Sector 92 relentless following all sports such as cricket, basketball, badminton and hockey. He’s motivated the children to do sports more frequently.
Manish Kumar and Sanjay Juneja have been the pillars who stood against all odds to get the sports facility completed. They have been instrumental in their commitment to build a sports arena for all ages in the sector.
The sports infrastructure in place, rules and regulation for better functioning are in the process and will be announced soon. More facilities can be added in future; however, it needs careful planning and detailing, funding as well.
The residents are enthusiastic about this impressive Sports facility, which is not present in any other sector of Noida. Though it was a big project, but with the cooperation of the members and guidance/help of relevant resources it saw the light of the day.
