It was a usual day at Youngistaan Adda, on the lovely cool morning of 22 April. We, after having 45 minutes of regular Physical, Mental and Spiritual routine at our ‘Lok Sabha’, were involved in intense chitchatting at our ‘Rajya Sabha’. (That is how we have named our two daily meets of 45 minutes each.)
We came to know that our beloved young member Late Shri Rajender Sharma ji (19.10.1954-22.04.2023) (11232) did not wake up in the morning and in a few minutes, we were shell shocked to know that he left us for his journey to the heavenly abode.
‘चिट्टा शर्मा’ as popularly known to ADDA members, because of his signature attire of White shirt and White trouser throughout the year, without any exception be it summer, monsoon or severe winter. We occasionally saw him donning a sweater and rarely wearing a coat.
He was a soft-spoken person and a man of few words with an infectious smile but led his life on his own terms. Very jovial, always ready to organise a party and a lovable personality. He will be remembered as खाखरा man too, bringing a packet almost every day for a couple of years, to compliment चन्नी (Col Sachdeva)’s चाय For quite some time, he suffered a lot medically. He was very brave and positive in his instincts. With all his constraints, he would show up at ADDA occasionally to everyone’s delight during the past couple of years.
On Saturday, 29th, all ADDA members paid tribute to Rajenderji along with his bereaved family-wife Ameeta, sons Ankit & Ankur and his caregiver. An Ashoka tree at Smriti Vatika was dedicated to his name. ओम शांति ओम।
