Khelo 39 is the creation of Suraj Verma who is a three time national champion and three time gold medalist in power lifting. In the beginning Khelo 39 faced numerous difficulties and challenges but due to the support of the residents Khelo 39 is now a big hit. The Khelo 39 committee members include Deepak Varshney as president, Suraj Verma as general secretary, Atul Mangal as vice president and various coordinators for each of the 12 sports that Khelo 39 organises.
