I cared for a dog & her puppies (born on 15 January) who lived in the basement of an unconstructed villa. On 27th, someone poisoned the mother dog; she died. A friend & I cared for the puppies – from vaccination to food. We circulated adoption posters to find a home but no luck.
In March, the opposite side villa construction began. Our lives became horrible. The villa owners harassed us for feeding them & shouted at us. On Monday, 24 April, I got a call that the puppies looked bad. What I saw was heart-breaking!
The puppies were unable to open their eyes, urinating constantly & having breathing difficulty. The Vet diagnosed poisoning. They were in pain through the night. On Tuesday, 25th, we dropped them into boarding & lodged a police complaint.
The police came to investigate, talking to guards & residents. On Wednesday, I brought them back to Hometown. A ray of hope came when two puppies got adopted/ taken in for fostering. But the others suffered again. They got poisoned, sick & hospitalised.
I couldn’t bring the puppies back here now. I sought help from Deepa ma’am, an animal rescuer. She took them under her care. They now live in a temple hoping that someone will adopt them. No one deserves to suffer like this.
I’ll be grateful if anyone comes forward to adopt the puppies.
