In the last few decades, our Sector’s Ladies Club has become an important institution of the Sector. The membership of the Club keeps increasing every month.
All these years, the members of the club chose its president by requesting a competent and willing lady to take over the reins of the club and host monthly events and programmes for the ladies to participate in and enjoy.
Shivani Chaturvedi, wife of RWA Secretary Ashok Chaturvedi, has been the president for the last two years. This year she showed some reluctance to continue as the president due to health reasons. Dr Anupma Bhardwaj showed her willingness to take over her position.
Senior members of the Ladies Club were not happy that Shivani was leaving and requested her to continue because she had not fully completed her vision for her two years as president because the first year was stymied by the Covid pandemic. She could not even complete her planned 24 monthly programs.
Word is that in the Ladies’ Club meet last month, Mrs Bagla and Vandana Shukla spoke to the audience and requested her to continue and asked Anupma to stake her claim next year.

Dear Friends, I fully endorse your views that Shivani is a very versatile, talented, committed and dedicated person. She has carried along a large team of committed ladies. No doubt, the first year of their tenure was marred by pandemic, yet they did as best as they could under the circumstances. Last year they presented a plethora of programmes, from different genres, catering to different tastes. The last two/ three programmes got cancelled due to reasons beyond their control. So, no debate on Shivani’s intent or abilities. We all appreciate and applaud the team. I believe she had expressed her desire to relinquish her responsibility so some other motivated and dynamic ladies expressed their willingness to take over. Now Shivani and her team desire to continue for one more year, we all should gracefully and wholeheartedly support them. The other group of equally popular and talented ladies should get their chance next year. Let us love, respect, cherish and celebrate one another and live like one, big happy as we do. Love you, Shivani and love you, Anupama! You both are assets to the Sector. God bless us all!
