Strange & sad but true. It takes a quake for a society to get together! On the night of Tuesday, 21 March, we were rocked by an earthquake measuring 6.7. It was a scary moment, but which ironically presented a delightful sight in our Wishtown.
Even though it was a grim moment (what with dangling chandeliers swaying vigorously which sent the residents scurrying downstairs), it soon turned into an informal get-together on seeing so many friends & neighbours.
Slowly, joy showed up in conversations which took humorous turns after the threat of a possible tragedy thinned. It was suppressed because people gathered. Soon, the situation turned witty. The following comments prove that with family & friends, the worst of times can pass with the least hurt.
”Dizzy or earthquake?“
”Yaar Dekho, log kaise sote hain!“
”Ye itni badi nightie kyon pehnti hai?“
”Are buildings earthquake resistant?“
”And the earthquake memes have started!“
”Well, that was earth reminding us who is the boss!“ ”एक बात समझ नहीं आती. ये earthquake ज्यादातर रात को ही क्यों आता है?“
”I think today we are well shaken, stirred, & fresh after the earthquake jolt!“
”In times when we may be killed due to earthquakes, so many of us were busy making videos!“
”Though all modern high-rise buildings in Noida are earthquake resistant. but zor ka aaye to…???“
