Holika Dahan in Silver Oak

Holika dahan was celebrated a day before Holi i.e. 7th March. A big bonfire was prepared by SOA staff and decorated gaily. Residents gathered in the evening, some to offer prayers and others to join in the festivities. The raw yarn was tied around the bonfire. After it was lit by a senior resident, grain, sweets and various food items were offered to the fire while walking around it 7 times by those who celebrate Holika Dahan. 

Then it was time for bonhomie. Those present applied colour as Tilak to each other. Music, of course being an essential part of celebrations, was played and some danced to Holi songs. Thereafter tea and snacks were served to all those present.
