Very colony has some residents who are popular and always eager to help others. In our colony, Ashok Arora (A-758) was one such person. Always helping others, you had to just mention your need and he would make sure it was done. I remember my constant need for support staff, and I just had to mention it to him and he wouldn’t rest till I got somebody.
He passed away after a short illness on 17 March 23′, leaving behind his wife, daughter and son-in-law. An active local committee member, a dog lover and a regular morning walker of the Park Street. Ashok Ji has been a resident of A Block for 22 years and one of the first ones to build his home next to the Park. He was a popular member of the men’s kitty group of the colony and most of them used to tease him for small slip of tongue mentions and would enjoy his happy annoyance on the group thereafter. He was always the butt of silly jokes and loved the attention after that.
The Samvada Editorial team fondly remembers the warm Ashok Ji. Whenever we would have an editorial meeting in our park, Ashok Ji would come and greet us and always ask if we needed anything like tea and coffee.
