The laughter club of Princeton Estate comprises the energetic, enthusiastic, seniors of the community. They meet and chat inside the premises and pursue a few lively activities.
To begin with, the club was formed as a small team with 4 members in the year 2014, focusing on fitness. Today there are 18 to 20 members and it is an inspiring team for everyone around.
The seniors assemble every morning at about 7 am in the park just opposite 1A and 1B in a big circle and start with the light exercises for about 15 minutes. Surender Mohanji takes the initiative to guide others for light fitness exercises. This is followed by the roaring laughter of all the gentlemen in the group. The laughter reverberates in the whole community as far as it could and becomes the waking call for the day among the flats of adjacent towers around the park. It is followed by a short rest on the chairs and cemented edges of the park and they disperse for a morning walk in small groups.
Birthdays and anniversaries gain importance among the members and end up in tea and light refreshments and exchange of gifts. Once or twice picnics had also been arranged and one of the members recall that trip to Lohargarh was memorable. They had arranged trips to Andaman and Nicobar and also to Amritsar in small groups. During the school holidays, children used to assemble at a particular time in the evening and each day one gentleman would come forward to share a moral story with the children. They participate in every social activity or festival in the community.
It is a spectacular sight to view the seniors with positive spirit and determination to come out of the house every morning, may it be summer, spring or winter.
Their regularity, discipline and punctuality would set an example for all the youngsters of today.
Laughter club members are the pride of Princeton and May our laughter club live long and inspire people around and spread the fragrance of positive energy.
