A resident of Maharani Bagh reported that the tree opposite her home is leaning dangerously over.
“It is very unsafe because the trunk is old and hollow. The branches of the tree were chopped off when the house on the left was being constructed. So now only one branch has all the load. My reason for complaining is that in spite of repeated reminders EVERY single year it’s a struggle to get this tree pruned so that it doesn’t harm anyone. This year again all the trees in this lane have been pruned except for this one.
“Personally, I have nothing against it, in fact it provides green cover, but my concern is for passers-by and the cars which are parked below. The tree will not be able to withstand the gusty winds of a dust storm.
Another resident says, “I have exactly the same problem outside house. Please do something as my car is also parked under it so the damage can be severe and I have complained many times – please do look into this also. I shall be grateful”.
After a survey of the Scolony, we find that every other tree has been pruned only on one side to prevent the branches intruding into the overhead electricity wires, with the result that the trees are precariously leaning on one side, either towards the road or towards the houses.
The RWA should get in touch with a private horticulture specialist to have the trees in the colony pruned in such a way that they become erect and look beautiful.
