Holi is all about colours. A time to get rid of the faded ones and fill in the new brights in your life. Being one of the biggest festivals in India, it spreads love, affection, friendship, happiness, and positivity all around.
As the name implies, Rang Utsav was a pre-Holi celebration held on Sunday, 5 March, in Lotus Espacia. The AOA of LBE organized this magnificent fest to get the Espacians into the Holi spirit. Like any other Holi Mela, there were food, drinks, music, stalls, games, and other fun activities.
However, this Rang Utsav was a blend of festivities with the Sufi Culture. Holi’s’ mehfil’ was all set this year, starting with a Kid’s Fashion Show, followed by a fabulous musical retreat by Sufi singers Nijamiz. All one could hear that day were ultimate hit Sufi Songs, from Kun Faya Kun to Chhaap Tilak, to Afreen Afreen and many more. These songs were obviously gelled in with soothing Shayaris from time to time.
The residents enjoyed this Ghazal Evening and even made a few ‘farmaishein’.
While these songs played in the background, the residents had a chance to enjoy drinks at the cocktail bar which was set by the side, and amazing food of a variety of kinds, from snacks to proper thalis and even Boba Shakes.
The Shopaholics of Espacia had a lottery set for them in the park behind the amphitheatre. The whole area was covered with commercial stalls, selling Jewellery, Apparels, Diyas, Candles, and other showpieces.
The little ones enjoyed themselves by playing in the big Bouncy and other game stalls.
All in all, Holi this year brought a new colour to Espacia, one filled with the Sufi shades, and mixed with love and joy.
