Holika Dahan is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. Hence, it’s important to attend the fire ritual. Many healers across the world encourage attending, to surrender negativity, past burdens, & current pressing issues to the holy fire, and to commit oneself to do good from then onwards.
Holika Dahan was celebrated on Tuesday, 7 March at the Amphitheatre, 8 PM onwards. A big bonfire was lit by elders with the help of newspapers and ghee. Prachi Chaturvedi (11102) says, “Hamletians offered coconut, choliye, gehun ki baaley to the fire as Prasad. They then began to play Holi with sandalwood powder & gulaal. Many residents also offered roli, akshat, batashas, flowers and jau to the stacked logs.” We even offered gujiya, camphor & clove, and lit diyas in front of the holy fire. Hamletians circumambulated around the fire, offering water, and prayed for their wellness and happiness. Contribute by Vandena Bal (11021)
