Imperial Ki Holi

Bringing all the beautiful colours of spring together, the festival of Holi is perfectly timed to be in sync with nature. While our gardens are blooming with lively colourful flowers, we celebrated the festival of colours with joyful smiles, lip-smacking food and much more. The festival of colours is always a happy time. The two-day celebration began with Holika Dahan on Tuesday, 7 March. This first day marks the defeat of evil at the hands of good. Fire signifies purity. We had beautiful flames taking away all the negativity and bringing all the goodness to our Imperial family. The ever-rising flames spread the auspicious yellow brightness to our garden. It was followed by a snack time full of Holi special treats like Gujiyas, Samosas and dry snacks. People danced to the beats of Dhol and disco with equal fun. The loud drumbeats signify the welcome of good times. So, we had loud drums as our background music to enjoy the occasion. Day two celebrations began early. Residents of all ages joined in the Holi celebration. Everyone was thrilled to see a shower of flowers. The beauty of marigold petals spread across the garden and the playfulness of throwing flowers at friends were like walks down the memory lane. Children were busy playing with water guns and throwing water balloons. 500+ water balloons proved to be ample ammunition for kids of all ages. Children playing in a water tub and throwing water balloons at everyone were the highlights. There were smiles and laughter everywhere. It was accompanied with super yummy festive food and homemade Thandai and Kanji. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful bright weather, great food, and fun music. It felt like a day when everyone came together and celebrated like one large family!
