From Rain Dance To Kavi Sammelan
Holi, the festival of colours as it is fondly called, always occupies a special place in our hearts and everyone eagerly waits for this day every year. In our sector also Holi was celebrated with much excitement and enthusiasm. Residents came out in parks and on the roads to drench each other in fragrant gulal and coloured water.
There were celebrations that were held in A, C and D block parks by the residents of Independent houses along with individual celebrations at homes. Residents gathered in the parks and brought along with them sweets and snacks to be enjoyed by all. Be it children or adults everyone was seen enjoying to the fullest. Residents could be seen dancing to the tunes of popular Holi songs. Some residents even set up karaoke systems and sang their hearts out. In Multi Storied societies the atmosphere was something else. As we all know that Holi is a two day celebration. The first day Holika Dahan is done and the second day is the day of colours. In many societies of the sector and at many intersections holika dahan was done with great enthusiasm. Residents took rounds around the holy fire and prayed for their well being. In Prateek Fedora society apart from Holika Dahan, the Cultural committee of the PFAWA had organised a Kavi Sammelan for the residents. Here many residents came out and recited their poems. Dr. Aaradhna Singh Bundela, a resident of Prateek Fedora recited a few lines out of her book that was launched recently. Tea and snacks were also served. The residents enjoyed this occasion and praised the efforts of the PFAWA board for taking this initiative to organise something new. The next day Holi songs being played on loud speakers filled the air along with colourful and fragrant gulal. In many societies elaborate arrangements were made for Holi celebrations. DJ was set up and provision for water and colours was made. In Prateek Fedora Society arrangements were made for rain dance. Children and adults alike loved this concept and enjoyed it to the fullest. In almost all societies there was an arrangement of a sumptuous lunch for the residents. Residents across the sector were seen taking pictures and selfies that soon made their way to Whatsapp and Facebook. While the festival may have come to an end the memories that we all created will stay forever in our hearts and in our phones as pictures.
