Summer is going to be tough for residents of Sushant Lok I this summer because the power load requirement with proper distribution infra is likely to break down for the following reasons.
Most of the vacant plots are getting occupied by new buildings requiring higher power load and distribution infrastructure.
Many 4-storey apartments have come up in the area having 20 air conditioners and a lift the power consuming apparatuses.
The electricity Board disowns any responsibility for improving the structure because they feel the Builder (Ansals) should first pay the charges the electricity Board Billed them for making up the gaps not provided by them as Builder of the colony. Last year some transformers were damaged due to load factors. The residents pooled their resources to install a new one.
It is ironic that the Board sanctions new loads at a deposit of about Rs. 2-3 lacs and that bills of the Board are regularly paid at a high rate of Rs. 8 per unit, but when the question of providing regular supply comes they take the shield of defaulting builder.
The residents of the colony through their association are taking up the matter with higher authorities because they can see difficult times in the summer season.
