Meet Our Chief Guest of Republic Day Celebrations at D-3/4

A soldier always remains a soldier. It is an apt description of Brigadier (Retd) Satish Kukreja who lives in D-3/4, Vasant Kunj.  Following partition he moved to Sonepat. Passes out from NDA and
joins Jat Regiment in Infantry. His work gives him well deserved promotions.

Saw action in RS Pura in 1971 war as Co Commander. Commanded a Battalion in Rajouri and then Brigade in Manipur in most trying circumstances fighting militants. He moved as Commandant to Jat Regiment Centre in Bareilly, where he trained several raw villagers to become soldiers. Last posting was in Delhi as DDG Canteen Services. He used his management skills to deliver. Retired in 2000 after a distinguished career!

A new beginning awaited him. Joins ISBMR, an organisation devoted to spreading awareness of Osteoporosis among medicos! It is a member of International Osteoporosis Foundation. As CEO of ISBMR, he succeeded in raising its corpus thus expanding its reach benefiting the patients through more knowledgeable doctors!

Arranged travel & treatment of members of SCWA, Vasant Kunj and shared his administrative experience with Indian companies who receive ‘Offset’ contracts!

He coauthored a book. Travels to see new places with his supportive wife.

Has played & still retains deep interest in tennis, golf, polo, cricket and baseball. Enjoys company of his children and grand children!

When he goes into past-forward mode, he reminisces the rollercoaster life in army, with non- family stations & discontinuity in life! But also talks of the opportunity he got to be exposed to different languages and cultures!

Does he have any regrets? None he says!
