The Delhi State Council for Women situated at C-674A, NFC time and again, is instrumental in organizing various camps for the benefit of all, largely the under-privileged. In another such attempt, the Council in collaboration with the ‘Indian Cancer Society’ organized a ‘Health Check-Up Camp’ on 11.02.2023 at its premises in C-Block involving free tests for examination of blood samples, ENT check-up, Chest X-ray, Pap Smear, Mammogram etc. The members behind the organization and success of the camp were Bela Verma and Dr Santosh Sahi.
The camp commenced at 9.30 am and continued till 2.00 pm. But long queues could be seen much before the start time as several people lined up for the tests. Unfortunately, all could not be taken in as the doctors and technicians ran out of time. They have promised to come back soon with more time in hand to ensure servicing requests of more people. From the statistics that were made available, a total of 126 beneficiaries were tested who went back contented of their health and safety. Some, however, were not so happy as they were requested to come back the next time. We hope that the Council continues the good work and we see the incidence of more such camps in the near future.
