Kiran & Col. Arvind Kumar (Retd.) came to Kalypso (KT14 802) in 2018. Kiran was born & brought up in Punjab & Himachal. Her father was in the army & in the field mostly. One of three children, she has always been outspoken & opinionated. In St. Joseph School, she would participate in debates, sports & other cultural activities.
Col. Kumar (Retd.) went to Sainik School, NDA Batch of ’77 & passed out of IMA in the nineties. He has done Staff College in Wellington, TN & an MSc in Defence Studies.
“We met at his course mate’s anniversary party as common friends. He then proposed. This was followed by our wedding almost 24 years ago.”, says Kiran. The couple are proud parents of two beautiful souls – Neelaksh, an engineer from BIT Mesra, Ranchi & Utkarsha, Class Seven, DPS, Noida.
Kiran runs an events & wedding planning company. This has been her passion but earlier, due to her army life of sudden postings, she opted to be a counsellor & educator which helped keep the balance between her family & professional aspirations.
Col. Kumar is an avid reader and Sudoku master. He has a keen interest in technology which is helping him get involved in Make in India projects by the Ministry of Defence. He is one of the founding Program Directors at iDEX DIO & is also into consulting & motivating young minds!
